Burgers are one of the most popular snack meals in almost every country these days and the food industry has many ways of making them attractive to us – so why not use them for a spot of burger mindreading?
You show several picture cards each with a different burger pictured on its face, like Cheeseburger, Turkey Burger, Moroccan Burger, Christmas Burger and so forth, the cards all have blank backs to prove, without your saying, that they are not marked in any manner. Mix the cards up, fan them out face down and let an audience member select one. You touch its blank back and taste and smell the tip of your finger and can instantly reveal their freely chosen burger!
You can repeat the effect as many times as you wish. They can even pick one behind your back and you still reveal its name. Or have someone select three different burgers hiding them in their various pockets, and you still reveal the burger’s name and even tell them which burger is in in each pocket.
The cards can be examined by the spectators who may be looking to see if they are stacked in alphabetical order, but they will soon realise they are wrong.
